VANUDIS, a biotechnology startup developing the next generation of antibody-based therapeutics, has implemented Cenevo’s Labguru solution to scale laboratory operations and prepare for regulatory requirements.
Labguru delivers full automation within its laboratory information management system and electronic lab notebook. Scientists utilize Labguru to plan, document, track, streamline, automate and share their scientific research, encompassing the full life cycle from early discovery research to late preclinical development.
“We needed more than software. We needed a lab-wide infrastructure that could link data, processes, and people, while remaining flexible as we grew,” said Isabelle Kos, Lab and Quality Manager at VANUDIS. “We have considered Labguru not just to use as a digital notebook but also to keep track on inventory of research material and equipment."
VANUDIS needed to rethink how their lab operated day to day: the company had expanded from 20 to 50 employees; they had brought in new equipment and scientific complexity had increased.
After a thorough evaluation of five LIMS and ELN platforms, comparing features, cost, usability and integration potential, VANUDIS eventually selected Labguru.
It was clear that to scale effectively and prepare for late preclinical work in alignment with regulatory requirements in 2026, VANUDIS needed to bring order, visibility and standardization to every aspect of lab operations. VANUDIS has consequently consolidated documentation, inventory, protocols and sample data within Labguru to ensure a digital footprint for any experimental work with traceability of operator, stock, sample and lot number.
This has shifted the manual processes to a fully integrated and scalable system.
While researchers and research associates were required to spend more time on documentation it was appreciated that viable drug development processes require sufficient quality control in every aspect of preclinical research. It was moreover realized that over time the additional time burden can be decreased after becoming familiar with the system.
“With a solid digital foundation in place, it’s exciting to see VANUDIS getting the full value of a connected lab,” said Jonathan Gross, Chief Product Officer at Cenevo. “We’ve worked closely with the team to make sure Labguru really supports their goals, and now VANUDIS can focus on the next phase: accelerating discovery and shaping the future of science.”
