Patent application covering the company’s intranasal SPC-15 therapeutic targeting stress-induced behavioral responses advances toward U.S. grant, strengthening Silo’s intellectual property portfolio.

Silo Pharma (“Silo” or “the Company”), a developmental-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on novel therapeutics and drug delivery systems with a wholly owned managed AI agent platform, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a Notice of Allowance for a patent application covering its lead asset, SPC-15, a novel intranasal therapeutic targeting post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The invention, titled “Compositions and Methods for the Prevention of Stress-Induced Fear, Depressive-Like and Anxiety-Like Behavior,” is also covered by a corresponding patent issued by the Japan Patent Office earlier this year.

Silo’s Chief Executive Officer Eric Weisblum commented, “Securing U.S. patent protection for this invention is an important component of our strategy for SPC-15 as we advance the drug’s development for PTSD,” said Eric Weisblum, Chief Executive Officer of Silo Pharma. “The allowed application is directed to both composition and method claims related to our proprietary therapeutic approach to preventing or delaying behavioral responses associated with stress-induced behavioral responses.”

A Notice of Allowance indicates that the patent office has completed its examination and determined that the application meets the requirements for patentability and should be granted shortly.

Silo’s biopharmaceutical intellectual property portfolio currently holds numerous issued and allowed patents.
