Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes company and a leading provider of clinical trial solutions to the life sciences industry, has joined forces with Sanofi Vaccines to bolster patient-centricity and streamline trial processes through the adoption of Medidata eCOA. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in optimizing vaccine studies, building upon the successful utilization of Medidata Rave EDC (electronic data capture) by both entities.
"At Medidata, we put the patient at the core of all of our work, and collaborating with Sanofi, who share this ethos, helps improve patient experience, the monitoring of patients in current studies, and accelerate study timelines and efficiencies in future studies," remarked Anthony Costello, CEO of Medidata Patient Cloud.
The partnership will leverage eCOA's innovative eDiary function to develop a tailored eDiary library specific to Sanofi's vaccine trials. This customized library will not only expedite study setup but also enhance efficiency and data accuracy, ensuring patients have access to user-friendly eDiaries that facilitate seamless data input.
Sanofi's decision to integrate eCOA capabilities into its vaccine studies marks a significant shift towards optimizing the patient clinical journey. By minimizing on-site monitoring and enabling real-time data entry from any location, eCOA empowers patients while ensuring the integrity and reliability of clinical data.
"The expansion of our collaboration with Medidata will enhance our clinical development processes as we strive to deliver groundbreaking vaccines to patients," noted the global head of clinical data management at Sanofi Vaccines. "Through a customized eDiary library, we can streamline eDiary setup and enhance data quality in ongoing trials, while advancing further into the digitalization era within the pharmaceutical industry."
Medidata eCOA, an integral component of the unified Medidata Platform, revolutionizes data collection by offering sponsors, contract research organizations, and sites a comprehensive solution to gather data from patients, physicians, and caregivers. With the potential to reduce study build times by up to 50%, eCOA provides a holistic view of patient data while offering flexibility and choice in trial engagement activities.
Having collaborated with Medidata for over a decade, Sanofi has harnessed Medidata's solutions across various facets of its operations, including vaccine studies, to securely and efficiently capture and manage data. This latest collaboration underscores the commitment of both Medidata and Sanofi to prioritize patient-centricity and drive innovation in clinical research.
